TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Black Diamond Lanterns, now avilable at !!!

I noticed they were a Black Diamond Australian Specialist Dealer, and noticed they never had an Lanterns for sale so I emailed them about it and asked them why and if they could stock them and a little while later they did, I only asked because I wanted the Orbit lantern and was have a hard time finding one in Australia from a website I could trust anyway.

This aint a add, but it would be nice if some people bought some, as I kind of said they would be popular in my email, I am going to order one soon, would be nice to hang one up in my tent and leave the headlamp for cooking and night walking if needed.

If you delete this i understand, hope I aint breaking any Forum rules.

Cheers.

They've been selling them at paddy pallin for ages. The orbit is a damn fine little lamp.. Like you say, MUCH nicer inside the tent than a spotlight, and makes a nice change from accidentally shining your headlamp in other's faces at night.

I like the black diamond lanterns so much, I bought 2 orbits, 2 apollo's, and a Titan.

Yeah, I'm a gear junkie.

I bought both the lanterns from Paddy Pallins a number of years ago, so they're nothing new.

I see you're abit of a lantern fan JohnM, having so many!

The new snowpeak Snowminer might be of interest to you too

Ooh, nice! Great looking bit of kit.

Trouble is, it could make my Orbit redundant. And I can't have that!

Heres a good deal for the orbit on sale at the moment: http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/BDLILNNOL/title/black-diamond-orbit-lantern

among others, a quick google search showed at least 20 other Australian stores stocking the BD lanterns, such as:
mainpeak
climbing anchors
travelgear.com.au
jervis bay kayaks
austecc.com.au
outdooradventuregear.com.au
etc etc etc

Now trying to find an aussie supplier for those new snowminer headlamp lanterns is a different story, but I think they'll hit 2 birds with 1 stone for backpack camping.
For car camping, I just picked up a Coleman northstar dual fuel which uses shellite/unleaded and this thing is crazy! something like 1000 lumens and it burnt for well over 8 hours on high using less than 1L of premium unleaded fuel.

Yeah I think I saw it at torpedo7 but gave it a miss the name looks dodgy and the site looks dodgy, so I never trusted it.

If paddypallin don't have it on their website it does not exist to me and probably many other people who never go to their bricks and motor shops.

Cheers.
