Kathmandu boots?

Has anyone had experience with Kathmandu boots? They have Teranias on special for $100 which seems like a good price if they are any good. I might go and check them out tomorrow, but boots can look and feel good then fall apart fairly rapidly!
I currently have a pair of well loved La Sportiva boots but they are getting holes in, not just at the top

stick with recognised brands, guarantee the boots will be made in asia , kathmandu don't make their gear to high specs like other well known brands,

A friend bought a pair of Kathmandu boots and they fell apart after one walk. And we are soft walkers, no bush bashing only trail walking and usually on good tracks. You honestly get what you pay for sometimes.

If you've got a macpac near by, check out the Ahnu montara (on sale at present).

They are brilliant. I've had a few slip issues with my Teva daleas and with the Tassy weather forecast last Friday I did not trust them in the snow. I happened to try the Ahnu's at the hobart store and they were like slippers. A big risk I know wearing them without a trial walk (other than a few hours round hobart) but I seriously couldn't fault them. They were bone dry on the inside the whole time (yet spent the whole trip in snow, water n mud). There was no hotspots, no blisters and are lovely and light so you don't feel like your lugging them round. I will be using these shoes for a long time to come (and buying another pair for when these die). Double thumbs up

If you buy them you'll have to do a review in them to let me know as I had a pair of eVent lined shoes in my hands today and pondered this exact thought.

Looks like you got them before me. Great to hear that you like them. Would love to hear more about them as they get more use. I've seen them at macpac but I never dared to try them on cos they look sooo comfy but the purse is empty

Yes...I went in and out of the store four times before buying. In the end I just couldn't find a compelling reason not to. They seriously are that comfy. I've got quite a bit of walking coming up with the bushwalking club I've joined. It will be interesting to see how they are in the warmer humid climate (mind you the daleas are also eVent lined and have not been an issue). So ill definitely keep you posted

Why not do what every other woman seems to do with shoes. Put them where they will be most in the way, then never wear them again!

We must be a reverse household as its my husbands size 11's that always get annoyingly left in the doorway. Mind you if I left all my shoes laying around the house you'd trip endlessly...I may have a small fetish for trainers

I once bought a pair of Crap-man-do boots. They were terrible. Poorly designed with a stitch right where your heel sits that was poking out, gave me blisters within about 10 minutes. Didn't help that I was sold different sized boots, the left was 1 size smaller than the right. Took some effort, but I managed to get my money back, and not just a store credit. I learnt a lesson that day.
