Looks interesting and kudos for getting there but as far as bang for buck goes I think an expansive view will beat a grassy bowl.... but then I haven't been there...

Haha yeah every campsite on the Pelion circuit is a classic given the right conditions. We decided to do it again just so we could stagger the trip to stay at the ones we walked through.

Top of Thetis would be AMAZING (or terrible)!!!

Very nice but I imagine it could get very wet.

Not sure if you could get views right out the tent door, but the rock formations around the campsite, the close proximity to the summit and the easily attainable views into some pretty remote country. Also theres a creek running through, its just a nice alpine garden. and the trouble getting there of course.

Yeh it's not as good as the one on the Frankland range....

Went there about 5 years or so ago. West along the White Monoliths then out over Greystone Bluff. Very nice walk. Didn't go down to Badger Ck though, so I'll need to go back sometime.

I have this exact route pencilled in for a couple of years time...
And I'd have to agree with ILUVSWTAS, that camp site on the Wilmot / Franklands was amazing.

Not meant to discuss off track areas, but i've never been one to follow rules...

First one is up near the new abel (Agemenmom.. or however it's spelt) on the way to Philps peak, the second one is very near the track just short of Tahune.

Find much water up there? Ran out of time on our attempt at Philps, will have to go back for an overnighter high camping here

G'day, I just found this reference to Matt's and my trip to Greystone Bluff, as part of this interesting discussion. I agree that it is magical up there, particularly in partial visibility, which accentuates the mystical feel evoked by the geomorphology and vegetation of the place. Great spot!

Camping up near Tent Tarn two weeks ago. We were joined by a lovely inch of snow overnight, made walking out to Grail Falls amazing!

Note: my tent isn't the one in the picture, i'm tucked away around the corner further away from the growing pond thanks to natural springs!

Not very good photos, but this night on the Bobs plateau was a great campsite that is fairly accessible and provides great views. Was even better with a cheeky eye fillet and various salads.

Photos just don't tell of the majesty that Fedders really has in the view from here. Great views across to the southern coast and PB also.

This place was pretty cool even if I did have to carry water up here, and the forecast was so good I was very lazy with the pitching of my tent

These were alright:

High on the Crest Range. An amazing place with an extremely remote feel.

Mount Bobs. We found a neat little shelf in a small hanging valley on the western side, views of Federation right out the tent door. The valley didn't do much to ease the howling south easterly.

High on Mount Thetis. A stunning grassy valley in amongst the boulders complete with its own tarns. Great place, pity the weather wasn't better.
