Cut some small slits in a banana, and bury some pieces of dark chocolate under the skin towards the centre... wrap in foil and either steam in a pot or bake on the coals.

The baked banana and chocolate sauce combo is REALLY delicious, the smell when opened had the whole hut drooling :D

My daughter taught me this one but she adds chocolate AND mini marshmallows into the slit before baking in foil in the fire.
Sounds gross but tastes outstanding!

At home we don't normally have dessert after dinner, so it is a real treat when we are bushwalking and a tasty reward for all that exercise. The biggest hit when we walked the Overland Track a few weeks ago was Sticky Date Dumplings (based on the Berry Cobbler recipe in the e-cookbook "Food To Go" from Our Hiking Blog). I didn't actually test it out before we went (doh!) and the quantity in the recipe made enough for 6 people (or 4 large serves) so I carried more weight than we needed for the two of us but it was really nice to share with our new-found friends. And it was delicious!

Couple of pouches of Miso paste with two cups of water, some dehydrated mushrooms, carrots and ramen noodles.
Yum.
