I am planning a trip from Pelion West around to Pelion Gap, including a traverse of Mt Ossa, next summer. Some years ago i went over Mt Thetis to Leonards Tarn and i have also traversed the Du Cane Range from Gould Plateau to Falling Mountain so am familiar and comfortable with dolerite boulder hopping. Not looking for a detailed description but interested in how feasible it is to traverse Mt Ossa from the Mt Thetis/Paddys Nut side.
yea I did this last year, went down ossa into that grassy saddle, thetis, paddys nut, achilles then continued on and over pelion west the next day. hardest sections were coming down off ossa and going back up pelion west, some HUGE rocks to navigate around, spesh with a large pack. sick walk, have fun!
