TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

This is one instance where local would be better, much better, I wear "Fit-overs" and the Beko may or may not fit ( cool face masks tho) i have not found a local ( Geelong ) source of soft waterproof leather either to make my own, may have to be nylon or Goretex then

Nose pieces for my sunnies

Postby ninjapuppet » Thu 14 Jun, 2012 12:30 am

I have a couple of those beko nose shields. Some models a medium is the same as a large so measure carefully.

I met a few mountain guides in Alaska and they preferred to make their own out of cheap neoprene gloves. I tried theirs on, and it fitted better than my beko

Might be missing something, but what is the point of these?

Stops your nose from getting to much sun. Above the snowline on a sunny day the UV is fierce, also because they project beyond the end of the nose they stop reflection from the ground and you don't get sunburnt inside your nose.
Getting a bad sunburn inside the nose is painful beyond belief, much worse than sunburned eyeballs.
I'll probably wind up making my own but getting the right blend of stiffness with softness isn't easy.

Why not get just one with glasses attached?
