looks like they got a bit of a shock on the harder sections of the track.... one of them had an enormous tent, and the other was a reasonable size. i wonder how much they weighed....

The main guy (shall we call him Grundle?) was hauling a 22kg pack at outset, the rest lighter. For memory it's mentioned somewhere within the videos.
I'm prepping for the SCT and this was the most comprehensive coverage I could find in video. I'm appreciative for filming their pain, as it's helped me get my head around the challenge that I'll be coming up against.
I cannot wait. For those that have done it feel free to impart any words of wisdom.

The other guy, upon reaching the top of the Ironbounds, claims he is carrying 26kg. He seems to be significantly smaller than Grundle - surely they could share some weight around?

maybe they could have rationalised their gear and started with a lighter load in the first place... they looked like camping rather than bushwalking tents...
. the only time i recall carrying that much weight on a summer trip that long was when i was with cadets and we had wet army ration food packs. . . the lightest pack i heard mentioned was one of the ladies carrying 19kilos..
those tents definitely added a lot of weight...

Looks to be an Exped Venus 2/3 - not too heavy if sharing with others. Not sure of the other one.
