Scouting - Jamboree 2013 Qld

Postby Onestepmore » Mon 14 Jan, 2013 8:49 pm

From another post I was writing

PS 11 yr old son came home this morning from 2 weeks' Jamboree in Qld. Cream zip off's so dirty they could almost stand up unaided. Watershoes in bin somewhere as they disintegrated. 20 named pegs didn't make it home. Thongs gone. All money spent. Badges unswapped. Never again will I send white socks. Hair blue. Volleys grey. Ears full of dirt - even after a shower here at home. Rinsed and re rinsed stuff - brown water tipped on the parched garden - before daring to inflict torture on the washing machine
Daughter announces she'd really like to go to International Jamboree in 2015 in JAPAN!

We can learn a lot from crayons. They come in different shapes and colours, but they all have to live in the same box

You get no sympathy from me on the socks and pants. I don't even wear cream thermals any more. Black, khaki, dark blue, drab green, that's about it. Dirt coloured clothing is best.

Lol. I attended the 10th Australian scout jamboree in SA as a 13 year old. (I think the last one was the 23rd?) what a great experience! He'll remember it forever. Yeah we might have come back a little dirty, I don't remember, but geez did we get in to a heap of trouble whilst there! Stuff my parents never ever found out about. :-)
