TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Lowe alpine gaiters

Knowing my sea to summit ones were beyond repair and that I'd be needing a new pair for tassie, my brother bought me a pair of Lowe alpine mountain gaiters. Does anyone have these or have an opinion on their worth? Thanks.

I have a pair and we used them on the Overland Track in April last year. They are lightweight and hold out the mud. If you are thinking of doing some off track walks through scrub I don't think they would hold out too well - for this I hjave invested in a canvas Torre Gaiter from MacPac - the toughest they have!

The gaiters you have are good lightweight and keep the mud out but also breathe. I would use somethink stronger for scrub bashing off track.

Thanks philm, I'll see how they hold up but they do look a tad on the thin side.
