Live weather and webcam from Melaleuca, South West Tasmania

Melaleuca, in SW Tasmania now has a weather station, and 2 webcams providing live weather data and images available on the web with live data available between 7am to 7pm.

The system is built and maintained by ParAvion with the primary purpose of providing ParAvion pilots with weather information for their commercial operations, but the same data is available at the direct links below.

These links will be incorporated into the main ParAvion web page soon so may change, check there web page for updates

Again please note, the data is only live between 7am and 7pm but weather data is logged 24 hours a day and overnight data can be accessed the following morning.

How do you get this information back to base? Across ham radio or via reserved spectrum?

The data is sent back by a Satellite Internet connection (Ipstar) with adds high speed internet via Wifi to the system so the pilots can check the Hobart weather before departure (as well and Facebook and bushwalk.com posts of course)
