Is this the lightest stove ??

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

The FMS-116T previously held the title at 48g, so it looks like it is! Looks to fold down a lot smaller than the 116T too - although obviously a completely different burner design.

The FMS-300T is currently the lightest canister stove around. There is an interesting look at it on bpl. Roger Caffin has a new article (pay to view) on the state of technology for canister stoves - the burner design is really something different. Hikin' Jim also has a look at it on his blog.

That is about the lightest stove available.
Backpacking Light Magazine has a good article about them.
Fire Maple are a Chinese stove manufacturer that invested in their own research and developed super lightweight stoves that are now being resold by western companies like MSR etc.
Definitely not just a dodgy eBay item
cheers

Kovea is the OEM for MSR. Fire Maple seem to get rebranded by "in-house" brands - such as Macpac, Kathmandu, etc.

Kovea also have them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-KOVEA ... 4abf7c0b6f

Keep in mind with all these cheap O/S sources stoves that they aren't tagged as safe. I'm sure something that an insurance company won't miss.

Aye, it's the lightest. I've got a few photos on my blog if anyone is interested: The New Lightweight Champion: The FMS-300t.

A very interesting design; quite innovative. It's part roarer burner but doesn't have (not exactly anyway) a spreader plate.

Of need for use in a commercial situation. For private use - where third party liabity, duty of care etc is less of a concern?

Most people have private health insurance and/or life insurance.
