Postby Liamy77 » Sat 03 Dec, 2011 7:20 pm

Just wondering if anyone has some current info on the water supply etc. in these areas.... looking for shorter trips with kids... been a while since I was around there.

Hey mate.
Not much water out those ways, though the creek at the hut on Miles beach actually had water in it for the first time i've ever seen. I still wouldnt have drunk it. Only very short walks though, so wouldnt be too hard to carry.
Nothing to see here.

Well actually, there were a few people 'sprinting' at the end of the course last Saturday (Bruny Island Ultra Marathon).......although they were the people who entered the 64km event as a team so probably had a bit more gas left in the tank than I did as I was heading up to the finish at the lighthouse!

I was offshore from Fluted Cape the other day. Amazing to see the fire damage. A lot of it is Casuarina and won't recover for a long time. From what I could tell the walking track isn't affected though.

The walking track's fine, apart from one or two melted arrows and a couple of treefalls.
