Took my little Xmas lights camping out above the tree line over Easter in our Hilleberg Nallo 3GT. So pretty in the fog and mist. Strung them up over the central arch.

Would look beautiful in the snow

I haven't quite worked out how to bake hot cross buns over a camping stove though!

About every second year we are out for a big walk at Christmas - last year was 6 days down Washpool Creek in Washpool National Park.

While we didn't take any official decorations or presents as pack weight was an issue, my partner Caz got a leech on his testicles as a special present Christmas morning and I got a 'Miniature Robinson Crusoe Raft Building Kit" - photo of results attached - which was used to float squashed march flies down the creek. It's all about making the day special in a wilderness kind of way.

Is this a rituallised march fly send off a bit like the burning pyres floating down the Ganges? Or more like playing Pooh sticks? Either way it was very ceative and I imagine quite a serene way to spend the day
(well maybe not for your parner and his little fat friend!)

Very much like playing Pooh Sticks !!! and very serene, except for the march flies that weren't dead or floating on the raft and were still attacking us in plague proportions and faster than we could kill them.
