A worthwhile site

Bushwalking gear and paraphernalia. Electronic gadget topics (inc. GPS, PLB, chargers) belong in the 'Techno Babble' sub-forum.

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

If you're not familiar with these guys, they're worth a look.

I have found their comparison tables really good
We can learn a lot from crayons. They come in different shapes and colours, but they all have to live in the same box

I have also bought quite a few things from them and have been very happy with their communication and customer service. It is nice to find site where you can get a range of gear from different UL and regular manufacturers and pay minimal postage compared to dealing with a myriad of US businesses. By the time you drop the VAT and the low cost of postage from the UK it becomes an anti-trade barrier effective source for Thermarest, MSR etc.

My first choice for light weight gear, broad selection, fast, efficient service. Would you believe they beat Aust Post from eastern states to the Territory!

Yes. I routinely get items from the UK faster than stuff from Melbourne or Brisbane to Sydney. Best yet was bike parts I ordered from the UK on Friday evening and I picked the parcel up on Wednesday morning in Sydney.

Back to the OT. Nice site. It is well worth a look.

They have a feature that is just a pain in the *&%$#! though : "2 in stock, various types, add to basket to confirm stock" You have to add to the basket to see if the size you want is in stock... This just takes forever to find what you want, so I gave up ordering there.

A great place for Cascade stuff in particular. I've bought a few bits and pieces from them over the last couple of years. Have to stop myself checking their website 'cause there's always something I want to buy . . .
