I am looking at a hike that I can do for my birthday. I was originally planning to do feathertop and mt bogong, but there could still be too much snow and I will be there a fair bit for skiing and snow boarding and I have already done 2 hikes there. Suddenly I thought of Cradle Mountain.
I was just wondering what the condition is like there over that time frame. If snow shoes is required, it is a no go for me. if it is just horrendously cold, I will be ok.
I have to say I have never done OLT before.

It could be anything from deep snow to perfect. But, in my experience, early spring is the worst time to be in Tassie - the weather is even more unsettled than usual.

Like she said. It's not a time that I would choose to go as it's often miserable.

Thank you both.
That settles it. OLT will have to wait.

So now it'll probably be perfect weather that week and you'll never forgive us!

It is always good to have someone to blame.
I am going to keep it open at the moment and evaluate as it draws nearer. I have a snow season to keep me occupied for the next 3 months.
