New aerial video - Mt Gell - Mt Hugel - Mt Rufus

Postby Wandering-Foxbat » Fri 12 Jul, 2013 9:29 pm

Hi

I've just uploaded a new aerial video on YouTube: http://youtu.be/GeVoo4EznJs. Please let me know if you see any labelling errors.

Does anyone know anything about the huge landslip in progress 1.4km north of Mt Hugel? (see on the video at 3:21). The stepped concave fault scarps and cracks are textbook examples of a massive failure that just has to let go one day. I suspect it's been in progress for hundreds of years. I have emailed Geoscience Australia about it but not heard back yet. Has anyone on the forum actually walked over this area?

Cheers
Gary

Haven't got enough internet to check it out at the moment, but will make sure to come back to it. As with your others, I'm sure it's fantastic! Plus I'm hoping to be walking in this area soon :P

Thanks for sharing!
