Just did some more price comparisons, the RescueME's cheapest price (delivered) is 370 and the Kannard is 330.
That means you'd be paying ~40 extra for 50g less.

Good price, buy it! At the end of the day, these are all certified safety equipment. Apart from size and weight and some minor difference in the way they set up their antenna, they will all work (supposedly).

It is not new 18 months old so still has plenty of battery life left.

Ask how often it has been tested. They have a limit of tests before the battery needs to be replaced.

Otherwise, 358 is a great price, (Possibly the cheapest in the world; take that Australia tax)
If you pay with credit card you can reverse the payment if you get snookered.

Just received my RecueME PLB1 $322.20 landed wowsers it is small 1/2 the size and weight of my old defunct KTI RB3 ,only drawback I can see is that unlike the KTI the PLB1 has no activating instructions on the unit.
Like the old one I hope never to need to use it and it took more than a week of my OAP to buy it however worth it for peace of mind in the home front

I tried another seller trying for a forum discount but get the feeling that they don't have a big profit margin.

For those that have purchased and received this particular plb, are you happy with it. I have read some of the concerns about this model being activated accidentally. So do those forum members that actually own this plb think that it would be easy to set off accidentally.
Also anyone know of anywhere with a good price on it atm?

I have only read people suggesting that it can be activated accidentally. In my care, I can't see how I can accidentally activate it. Yet again, if made so child proof, then I don't want to consider it in a true emergency. A very happy owner of the device and gladly have not had the misfortune to activate it.

Cannot see how I could activate mine accidentally where it would would send out a signal as you need to pull out the antenna to its fullest extent prior to pressing the activation button.
Don't know however what would happen if the activation button was pressed with the antenna unextended.

Agreed totally. Its like all my insurance policies; but I still feel the need to have them.

I've simply wrapped a rubber band around the unit, holding the flap that covers the button shut.

May make it so much harder to activate if you don't have anything to open the vac seal other than your teeth eh!! I have a small pocket knife on my person every day which would fix that I guess not everyone does, lacky band looks good if in doubt imho

Just got one of these tiny things for $350 in Hobart. Advice above about registration online is spot on. The Check Sum number on my box didn't work either so just omit it from the form and everything went smoothly. We're off and running......lets hope it never gets used

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has heard any reports of these being used? I read a theory somewhere that being an ocean product there may be a reliability issue in the bush (canyons etc with limited view of the sky). Taking it with a grain of salt. I'm thinking I'll go this direction but can get the acr rescue..+ a tiny bit cheaper for a short time.

All PLBs have to conform to the same standard. They will all be almost invariably similar in reception.

Other than that, the hes been no private testing.
