Spot on Nick!

We had a thorooughly enjoyable walk up there last month, we only got showered on once and it was as we were crossing Blizzard Plains. There was a lot of water in the area then, I'd hate to imagine (actually I'd love to imagine) how muh water is up there now!

Over to you.........

Great photo Nick! Good view of the track too, I've always found it hard to picture it. Guess I better get fit soon if i plan on doing the full Arthurs traverse this summer :? :D

By the looks of them Islands (which look like the Matsuyker group)... I'm guessing somewhere far South West... maybe on the hills just west of Ketcham Bay?

Yeah Nick, west to east! It's very much just an idea at the moment, it doesn't exactly coincide with my plans to work all summer and save!

Not on the South Coast Track, not on any track  Looking for a name that identifies this "area".

It looks like you are approaching the top of the New Harbour Range
from where you took the photo of the year 2008!

This is a nice photo Tas-man
Did you come up from New Harbour? And which way did you exit?

Got it in one again, eggs :!: I thought that anyone who remembered my postings on the New Harbour Range last year would make it a "no contest." The high point of the range is just left of centre, and we descended to Cox Bight from east of the hight point on an open ridge eventually meeting up with the South Coast Track not too far before it hits the beach. Wonderful open country to walk in when the weather is kind, but would be a disaster in bad weather due to its exposure and lack of shelter.

I was particularly interested in your photos from that area.
Part of my dreaming about future walks.

I know phil was just pipped recently - would you like to post the next one phil?
Edit - looking back, it appears phil only has access at work - so I will post one more to keep it going

It looks like the Druid Range coming down of Mt Anne, photographed from near the Hut on the way up to the Eliza Plateau

I can't make out any of those bumpy bit. I was expecting tasAdam's visual challenged Cervid. :D

Maybe if I ask a question or two we can eliminate some possibilities.

Is it Western Arthurs?

Yes - Certainly Western Arthurs - and Eggs is spot on with his observations. Now - where was it taken from? (approximate location OK)

Yes, the Western Arthurs I think... looking east from Procyon Peak as a guess?

TR

Edit: change my guess - maybe the other side - from Mt Sirius looking east...

I think Dave is on the other end of the range - on the saddle below the Phoenix on its south eastern side as you are heading off the peak towards the Western Portal. That would make the foreground ridge part of the Phoenix.
A place I would love to camp at - its in the planning/dreaming...

Eggs is correct. It is from a campsite we used part way down the Phoenix - the main saddle between the Phoenix and Centaurus Ridge is more sheltered and has more reliable water - but this spot has much better views.

And I was thinking Eldon Bluff - way off..

I suspect this game has some rather slow patches - and tonight is one of them.
Are you able to watch it tomorrow if someone answers?
