Cape Pillar Info for Easter

Postby whynotwalk » Wed 09 Apr, 2014 2:31 pm

I just saw this on the PWS facebook page:

Cape Pillar Track open during Easter holiday

Helicopter operations associated with the construction of the Three Capes Track will be suspended during the Easter public holiday period. As such the Cape Pillar Track, Mount Fortescue Track and the Arthurs Peak Track will be open from Good Friday 18 April through to Easter Tuesday 22 April 2014. Construction work may still be underway and walkers must follow any directions given by track workers. For further information contact Sam Lennox 0438 983 252.

Terrific. I was thinking of going down there this weekend, but the weather's looking a bit breezy. Last time I was at Fortescue the signs said that the tracks were open Friday to
Sunday but otherwise closed. Been trying to find info on the Parks website but it's too well buried for my meagre online skills.

Glad you found out in time nnw. For future reference, there's a menu option, in red, on the right hand side of the PWS main page. It's headed "Track and Reserve Closures", and at the moment it takes you to these announcements:

Thanks, mate.
ps:
The Franklin River Nature Trail in the Wild Rivers National Park has been temporarily closed due to dangerous trees.

Yes folks, there are trees out there with a lust for blood. Human blood. And they aren't fussy about how they get it.
Don't let your guard down for a moment - and don't go in unless you're armed and ready to rumble.
