Do you know about thelist?
[edit] Link was dead because it related to a local cookie, sorry 'bout that. Changed link to thelist home page.

Because I've never been there; I don't have a map of the area other than thelist; I could not see the falls on thelist, nor could I see their name; and I thought this extra info might help with someone else that does know.
Oh well, I tried.

I apologize, the question came across to me as though he was trying to be smart, and after reading the welcome this is a friendly HELPFUL site on the homepage i got a little peeved. Once again im sorry. :D
The questions that i post are mainly directed at the lesser known waterfalls in the state, some are not on the list, others are with very little or no info on them at all. Im hoping someone out there has bashed their way through the scrub to get to them or knows of them so then i can make a decision on wether or not to pursue these falls or move on to the next one.
Some people on this site have been more than helpful and i am very grateful as it is my ambition to photograph as many falls as i can. the information on the lesser known falls on google is non existant, and its my goal to change that by having a complete list, not just with coordinates, but how to get there and how far you have to walk and what the tracks are like if there are any, the best time of the year to visit them, other things of interest in the areaand so on

biggc, sorry that you misunderstood my initial intentions, I noticed over 20 views on the post and no replies, so I did the best I could.
Did you manage to find out whether they are named?
Perhaps the Parks office that looks after that area, or maybe the ski lodge up the top might know?

I can remember seeing online some time ago, a KML google earth file with over 100 waterfalls named and located. But I wasn't able to dig it up in any search.
Maybe taswaterfalls.com knows, I'll PM him.

Online maps.
http://www.thelist.tas.gov.au/index.html

Click on the icon "List map" - the third icon down.
Then click on "Other - 5th option along - on the right end.
Then at the top, click on the link for 1:25000 map series. The symbol to click on is a little magnifying glass with a + sign in it.
Then you can use the search for a particular place, or you can search entire state, or there are other options there.
Have fun!

There's the Wiki. The appropriate page would probably be: http://bushwalk.com/wiki/index.php?titl ... _Resources

...but it ain't on there!

OK, fixed. I've added a 'Maps and Navigation' section to that page and put theLIST on it.

So. The falls at Jacobs ladder...
I haven't seen them on a map, but I decided to ring a Parks ranger and see if I could get some info for you.
From the plateau the stream runs down a gorge off the plateau (could be called Strickland Gorge), and the drop of the falls is about 4 or 5 metres. Further down, there is another gorge that the falls go through before it goes into the Ford River.
The first one, it is an easy 5 minute walk, not marked but possible and I think he said there was a bit of a track.
The one further down, he didn't know much about but said it would be very hard going to get to.

Hope that all helps.
