maybe stubowling has a photo from your spot as he seems to have been everywhere i have yes, its from mt snowy north, with the distinctive scree slope of nevada peak evident. how about a section on 'great scree slopes of tasmania'

The view was a little obscured when I was up Snowy North so didn't get the full view you got, but yes I have been there;
Weld is very distinctive so was the big give away on that one + I was there recently looking back in the opposite direction at the Snowys.
This one should be pretty easy, terrible weather I had on this summit ...

I reckon that you have nailed it stubowling, and to confirm, that signature scree patch on Nevada Peak shows clearly in google Earth.

Any chance you are on the southern end of the Anne Circuit - dropping off Mt Sarah-Jane (and approaching the side of Schnells Ridge)?
I'm not 100%, as have only been as far as Lake Judd... but its got that Sou-west plain kinda feel at least.

That's pretty close, but can you pinpoint the location by naming the feature which is to the left of photo?
As I reckon that you will work that out easily now, it will be your turn next, unless someone else jumps in before you.

That's spot on! Photo was taken from where the South Coast Track comes around the southern end of Spica Hills and you get your first panoramic view (weather permitting) of Mt Louisa and the Ironbound Range with the next day's track in view. The Louisa Bay turn off is just before the track turns south to follow the base of the Spica Hills.

Sucked right in, another one to continue the "Blue Skies" theme . . . should be working, but time for a coffee break. . . . a first guess with the forestry evidence in the centre is the Picton River valley with Hartz Mountains on the right skyline, so photo possibly taken from Moores Garden or Mt Alexandra ridgeline looking north?

It's actually Mt. Mueller on the right, Mt. Bowes & Mt. Wedge on the left.
Taken from Mt. Styx looking west perhaps?
If not, close to that area, maybe from the Maydena range somewhere.
I was at Mt. Styx recently, tho got no views, other than the inside of a cloud; can't always get the bluebird days

edit: If I am correct, anyone else is welcome to post a pic, I'll be off walking all weekend.
If I am incorrect, i will have been pretty close, so please use my clues / observations to hone in on the exact spot

damn you stubowling, my 'where am i' nemesis! yes, taken from mt styx, a nice little jaunt on a summers day with some nice expansive and interesting views, but do find the track! about an hour on the track, about 2.5 hours in the scrub, over to......

Anyway - this looks like a telephoto shot.
It has the monument in it - which is west from the Totem Pole - and the island which is a fair way out.
So assuming a reasonable zoom effect - this will be from Mt Fortescue - I would say near the top, rather than on the way up the side.

It is not really a long telephoto shot but you mentioned the Monument . Its taken from Monument Lookout, so your turn I reckon.

Seems I didn't really get it right - although I had not heard of the lookout you mentioned, but I have been in the area.

With this one - I am looking for the name of a special feature near this spot.
You can actually see a tiny bit of it in the photo.

Pretty quiet weekend here. Can't be that we're all out walking, if the weather in Hobart is anything to go by!

Well eggs - we're in the Tasman Arch/Devils Kitchen area, I'd suggest. I'm going to narrow that down to you being on/near the track between Patersons Arch and the Devils Kitchen, with the latter just coming into view.

Its too quiet, so that will do - I was after Paterson's Arch.
And we were on the Waterfall Bay side approaching the arch. The stack in the photo was not highlighted (I don't even know if it is named) and not really obvious from the track. The photo was off track to get a better appreciation of it. The arch entrance is just beyond the stack.
For those who have not ventured along this track - this is what you will find beyond the stack.

Keep it simple whynotwalk, some us haven't done the miles of others
The Pine Lake short walk was the first highland experience I had in Tas, drove up from Hobart on my way to Cradle for the first time.
They might not be adventurous walks, but the short one's are very important to give less driven tourists an insight into a very special ecosystem.

My shot is pretty easy too, though the walk wasn't
