Don't know the name of the feature, so if I'm right, no bonus point for me.

Spot on Adam. Sorry about the slow response today. A little thing called work got in the way.

I take it "Eucalyptus Tree" isn't the foreground feature you are after... :wink:

:lol: That will do nicely.

I was talking about the little hill, which I thought was called Brazen Nose, but when I checked the map, Brazen Nose is the other side of Round Mountain. So I think Kramster can be awarded the bonus point for most creative answer.

Anyway, tasadam's turn.

It's one of those images that you'll know straight off if you've been there.
There's a campsite with a toilet nearby.

No. No toilet there.

Time for a clue - how many toilets are there that close to the beach? I can think of 4.
One is in thick forest with no real beach. One has a very obvious beach with no big rocks on it. One has beach in only one direction. And there's this one.

There are a couple of islands in the sunset photo - one is well known, just to the right of the sun.

Due to Dee's revelation about missing info on thelist, time for a bigger clue.
It's a popular side trip. This should be giving it away, because I gotta go to work soon.

dee_legg wrote:Osmiridium Beach then?

Quite correct, the beaches with nearby toilets I referred to were Deadmans Bay (bush, no real beach), Cox Beach where they used to land planes so no big rocks like that, and South Cape Rivulet where the beach is to the east only.
Two site trips Louisa Bay and Osmiridium, so it really has to be Osmiridium, don't think Louisa is that popular a side trip.

Your go Dee.

Not sure about exact location...
I think that's the top of Eliza in left foreground, Deception Ridge running down right side;
Mt. Wedge to right background, Sentinel Range to left background.
So I'd guess somewhere along the Eliza Plateau heading towards Mt. Anne?

stubowling

My immediate thought was where is Lake Peddar? - it being so prominant on that walk.
However, the angle across Deception Ridge places the camera quite close to Mt Eliza, and comparing my photos (no snow) of that walk, I can see that it would be just a short distance down from the top of Mt Eliza looking NW - and Lake Peddar & Lake Gordon would both be visible - except they are under the low cloud banks.

The angle is hiding most of Pedder, I think it's taken from the top of the scree slope in the saddle between Eliza and Anne

Well done stubowling
Now I can tick off my missing range for the competiton.
(It was arough division of the areas with emphasis on the easier to get to parts.
There are probably quite a few ranges unvisited by the competiton, but this covers my hole anyway)

But I have to look up the name of that 3rd peak...

Since I haven't been to this rather large high level range, I will need someone else to put up a photo from it.

So we can't be too far from Ronald Cross then...
Personally, never heard of Ronald Cross.

Sorry tasadam but I am on the blackberry and really will need a map.
I know he is not on KW1 and I think the next one along the edge is Milligans
But I can't recall the name of the 3rd peak along - which is where I think he is?

I'd say the 2 ranges in the distance in this photo, particularly the range to the right (Prince of Wales Range) have not featured much;
tho a couple of photos from Swifty were close to the left hand range (The Spires).
If you zoom in you can just make out a peak in the centre distance that has been described as 'the gem of the South West' - Diamond Peak;
I have a traverse of the KW range planned for October so looking forward to getting closer to these remote areas.

I will be visiting The Spires & POW's next February with several other bushwalk-tas members, can't wait!

Adam, yes, Ronald Cross is to the right (along with the Loddon range).

eggs, you are right on the money, I am on Mt. Pitt. :D
A great little day walk for anyone, taking in KW1, Milligans Peak & Mt. Pitt (KW1 even has a fibreglass igloo on the summit).

Over to you...
