Transport to Cockle Creek

Postby Steven » Sun 09 Aug, 2009 9:21 am

I'm walking the South Coast Track east to west on 7 November.

Evans coaches advertises a service direct from Hobart airport to Cockle Creek but I have sent hem two email without response. Does anyone have any advice on other alternatives? Taasielink do not post their Summer timetable until next month I would rather go direct from the airport to Cockle Creek and avoid staying in Hobart

I conned my brother into dropping me off, so I can't really help. I've heard Geeveston Taxis will drop you at the start of tracks, but how you get there from the airport is another issue.

Evans Coaches is probably your best choice, since Tassielink have reduced a few other routes recently (e.g. Scotts Peak) you can't be sure about their summer time table. You need to call Evans Coaches, other people have had trouble too with emailing.

Yes this is what we did last year, got picked up by them at Cockle Creek and they took us all the way to Hobart. Cost $270 from memory but there were four of us, so it was reasonable and an easy option. To save some money, you could take the Bus from Hobart to Geeveston and then get a taxi. The other option is to call Tassielink direct and I think they could have done it too.
