Freycinet Circuit in a day.

Returned from doing the circuit yesterday.
Thought it might be a bit ambitious doing it in a day at this time of year. Should have known when they say its a 2-3 day walk that's intended for people who like to walk on their hands..........

Took me 7 hrs 45 mins. Didnt run at all, was going at a good pace, until I realised I was way ahead of time so after climbing Mt Freycinet I slowed considerably!! Didnt really stop for any breaks either besides a couple of creekside breathers.

Anyway it was a spectacular day in a gorgeous area!! Even with all the tourists hopping around the carpark.......

Did you do the extra leg down to Bryan's Beach? I managed that on my last trip down there, although the final half hour back to the carpark was in the dark . . .

Once, when considerably younger, I did a similar single-day loop at the Prom. Before they cut the eastcoast track from the Lighthouse, obviously.

No I didnt. But was back at t he car before 3pm so if I ever do it again (unlikely) i'd probably take that extra bit in as well.

Thinking when the boy is a bit older it will be a nice place to spend a night or 2 while introducing him to bushwalking!

It's always a good way to spend a day when the weather's miserable in the mountains.

Took me almost twelve hours, but I was carrying a camera, besides doing a bit of off-track wandering here and there . . .
