Looking for a bushwalking mate

Postby misssackot » Tue 29 Jan, 2013 8:53 pm

Hello,

I'm travelling in Tassie for more than two weeks now, and i enjoy it so much that i want to stay longer, and continue to do bushwalking. I'm living in Hobart for the moment, and looking for day trip or couple of days trip around. I'm flexible to go up and/or down tassie, by bus as i have not a car. I m able to do 5-6 hours hiking per bushwalk day.
Thanks for your suggestion or other advice!

Depending on how long you are in Hobart for it would be worth looking at joining one of the many walking clubs here. They have many day walks at differing levels on offer and you can usually get a lift with someone. The clubs are not very expensive to join. If you want more info on the clubs pm me.

It might help if you give a bit of information about yourself aloftas, including your experience, and the type of walking you want to do - day walks or multi-days, general area etc,
Good luck!

thanks Chris, good advice.
I am gearing up to do some overnight walks. I am in the Launceston area and haven't walked for a while but have been pack training locally. I have been walking up the cataract gorge and zigzag track and I guess I am just looking to increase general fitness and hopefully wouldn't mind a tilt at the olt in winter
please feel free to pm me if you are interested.
