Cheap but good Waterproof for GF for Tassie

Walkin' Folk...
I know its a well ruminated subject but my particular question is what would be the cheapest reliable, fully waterproof women's jacket for my GF for our hike to The Walls and Tarn Shelf mid April?
Weight and longevity both matter but price and waterproof-ness are tantamount.

I've heard the Marmot Precip has inner-lining degradation issues.
Any other contenders and personal reviews appreciated

How much wet walking is she likely to be doing? I've had good service from a Rainbird I picked up in a hurry after finding I'd accidentally left all my waterproofs behind.

Yeah I'd like to take a step up from rain-bird I guess.
She's keen to do a lot of bushwalking but is just starting out. So need to take baby financial steps.
Tassie in April is a test and the Walls will be her first O/N walk. Too much discomfort could spoil future plans....
So 'tis a balance...

for my youngest daughter to walk in Tasmania in winter with us last year. Previously she used my much more expensive sexier light weight jacket, but just didn't quite
cut it in the conditions. It is heavy though and has some annoying features like a zip off hood (what's the point?) but it kept her dry. I have gone back to a longer heavier one planet rain jacket for walks in places like Tassie anyway, at home I hardly need one.
