Some comments for your consideration.
I have decided to do a new edition of The Abels Volume 1 and am inviting interested walkers to feel free to supply images for consideration. The original scans in the book are too dark, so the new edition will feature an assortment of some previous images and quite a few new ones.
If you have any comments re the text in Volume 1 with regard to Abels you have climbed please let me know. You may wish to submit some text for consideration which may fit in with the general existing structure of the essay in the book.
Information may include:
- Natural and cultural values and features that weren't previously mentioned
- Plant occurrences not mentioned
- Track re-routing or upgrades that are significant
- Different starting points
- Access
- Amendments
If you have climbed an Abel not so long ago and feel that the text is still appropriate as presented in the book, please let me know as well.
If you are climbing an Abel in the near future through to summer next year, please keep these considerations in mind.
Indications of interest can be forwarded to Bill Wilkinson:

I am on many waiting lists for the original. Rare as hens teeth. Anyone want to part with theirs? I'll pay handsomely!

Also, how much do you want to pay for an original - I just got my hands on a mint condition hardcover copy of it, so for the right price I might be willing to part with my soft cover edition, which is in very good condition.
