Not Ama Dablam, but looking toward it from much further east. I'm near the border with Sikkim.

Thanks Ronk. Never been there but your clues helped. Did you prefer Jannu to the Kumbu region?

This one's from somewhere in Argentina.

It's on the Kangchenjunga trek, Mirgin La was crossed on the return route to the airfield at Sukhetar.
It's a long and quite difficult trek, particular the return route which crosses a series of high ridges.
The landscapes while still amazing are not quite as spectacular as the Khumbu, but it's not as touristy either.

I thought that might have been a bit easier than it turned out.
Laguna Capri is correct- as is Cerro Fitzroy.

Thanks wobbly, it would only be easier if I had actually visited there :). I've seen some stunning images of that region including yours.

Next from a major NP in western USA. Just name the river valley I'm in.

I can no longer edit the previous post to label the photo but it is the Lamar Valley, Yellowstone NP Wyoming USA.

In fact I saw so much wildlife in this valley, it was a "hedy" experience.

Is it in New Mexico?

Further googling would suggest not.

I was lucky enough to do the US west coast road trip last year, and I recognise the type of country, but not this specifically.

Going by the clue, I'd guess Lamar Valley, Yellowstone.

If so, anyone can go - the only overseas images I have are ancient slides I'm too damned lazy to scan.

Yes, you got the clue and get the prize NNW. The only time I've seen a grizzly close by in the wild was about 5 kms from here. Impressive but unsettling.
The mountains in the background of the second shot are The Thunderer and Mt Norris. Anyone can go.

This is on a (very well) defined (and long) pathway.
The water in the lake was also very tasty.

So having poured over the entire South Island 4 times over, and even a quick check of the NI, I finally found a lake that fits the profile...
Might it be Blue Lake as seen from the Waiau Pass track in the Sabine Valley?

Wow! I am seriously impressed, eggs! That is correct!
I took that photo when I was volunteering as a Hut Warden on the Travers-Sabine Circuit last summer.
The Blue Lake is part of Te Araroa trail, which means "the long pathway."

It took a fair bit of googling to get the name for that one, I knew I had been there but I can barely remember a place names from Iceland as I was that bad of pronouncing place names they all blended in to one.

Next one is just over the norwegian sea in Norway
