Vale The Jolly Swagman

Postby rohjoe » Fri 29 Apr, 2016 9:15 am

The Jolly Swagman in Hobart is closing down due to the retirement of the owner, Pete. The business have been an institutution in Hobart for many years so I thought it was worth mentioning the sad news here. It's a shame to see one of the independents shut up shop. :( They are having the obligatory sale - I picked up a good deal on a One Planet McMillan, 30% off.

And then there was one...
Sad to see them go, but happy my friends were able to pick up One Planet Torrent jacket for $270

I meant your "and then there was one" comment. That is an absolute bargain though!

Sorry to read that, I've shopped there when staying in Hobart. They always had a comprehensive range of gear and friendly staff.

Find Your Feet are a local business too that sell plenty of Outdoor Equipment. There's also the pop-up shop selling recycled outdoor equipment.
It is a real shame The Jolly Swagman is closing though.

When in Hobart this shop was a must visit.
Friendly staff and always had Merrell shoes and boots at a good price.
Sad to see it go

Does anyone know when the last day of trading will be?

Goodie. I might nip into the city and see what's available. Not that I can afford to buy anything, but who can resist a bargain . . .
