Yes - you have a lovely High Dome - so I had to recheck my photo.
I found that the stitching program had removed most of High Dome - so I adjusted the setting and ran it again to put High Dome back!!

That flat plated white rock makes me think of Mt La Peruse - but the dolerite peak is more like Pindars Peak.
So I checked out some google images - and there seems to be a few spots where this flat white rock breaks out in that area.
So I will go with the track to Pindars Pk looking up at the peak.

Amazing - it was a photo from Dave Noble's web folios of Mt Victoria Cross that made me think that the white rock breaks out at a few places.
I didn't put the 2 together and think maybe the white stuff in that photo was the same as in yours!!

Correct. About halfway between the main track and VC. There is no track up VC.
(And yes, you can see that white rock in Dave's pic of VC from Wylly.)

It was a hard slog to get here from Junction Ck - the younger lads were just about had it at Square Lake.
But we planned our trip with the flexibility to try and match the weather - and it paid off big time on this walk.
We still got blasted off Hesperus 2 days later. :lol:

The game has been a bit slow stu - and I reckon you are due for a post
So your turn for guessing Mt Sirius (this photo is a panorama showing the Western Arthurs from one end to the other.)

Yep, that's a pretty big day eggs.
Day 1 I went from Scotts Peak to Lake Fortuna only, I think my 25+ kg pack nearly killed me going up Morraine A.
Next time I'll pack lighter I think :oops:

This one should also be fairly easy, plenty of obvious landmarks from here...

Hi Stu - that's Olympus and the lake in the background, so it's somewhere east of Lake St Clair. It's too far back for Mt Ida (I think) and I've never been to Mt Spurling - but somewhere near there, in the Travellers/Mts of Jupiter area, is my guess.

That will do tomberli (sorry whynotwalk; a bit further west of where you were thinking).
This is the view south from just under the southern subsidiary peak of Geryon.
We diverted over here for a look on our way to do Geryon South.

yeah I figured it'll be a bit too hard if you can't actually see what is crawling on the beach. But robl has got it - its Buckles Bay on Macquarie Island, looking South along the east coast. Still a Tasmanian National Park after all...

Almost but not quite... its been just about everything but never a National Park... its mainly a Nature Reserve and a Marine Park...

You're right - I should know better actually. Lets rephrase it to "it is still a World Heritage Area managed by the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife service"

Incorrect. This abandoned farm paddock is less than 5m above sea level but the distant mountain is over 700m.
(I took this pic because of the interesting cracking pattern in the soil)
