Next February we'd like to walk the coast of Mt William NP between Musselroe Bay and Eddystone Lighthouse. We'd hope to hire car at Launceston airport and drive, via Scottsdale and Gladstone, to Musselroe Bay (or Eddystone Lighthouse). We'd need transport or car shuffle from one end to the other, to avoid having to walk both ways. Any suggestions how we can get back to the car? Taxi, bus, car swap, hitch,......?

The beach just south of Eddystone point is nice. The gravel road past Gladstone can be rough at times, when I went to Eddystone point in Janurary 09 the road was terrible or the last several ks at least.I think a tour bus works this area, may be worth investigating.

I used to work for a tour company that took tours from Eddystone Point to Ansons Bay. Takes in Abbotsbury Beach, the interesting Shelly Coves, Baileys Rocks, and Abbotsbury Peninsula where the Bay of Fires Walks have their lodge. We organized the bus shuttle with one of the locals at Gladstone - try the Hotel or the Shop.

I followed up your suggestions - thanks Tazz and GerryDuke. Looks like the coast walk from Musselroe Bay to Eddystone (even further to Ansons Bay) is possible with one car. Roger the General Store Owner in Gladstone is happy to integrate a mail run with people drop off and car shuffle.
