I am planning a walk in Jan 10 on the best track in Tassie .... the South Coast Track. Last time I did it I come off the Ironbound Range in dreadful weather and ended up getting lost and it took a bit of map reading to get me back to the track. I'm doing it a bit smarter this time and taking a GPS with me. Does anyone have a list a coordinates for the track that I can load into my GPS?
Thanks

Gotta say im slightly surprised anyone could get lost on this track. just follow the bog trail and you'll be right. It's virtually a highway!! I guess it can happen anywhere though
I think there is a site somewhere where you can upload tracks from to your GPS. Try doing a google search.

I am also a bit surprised by this ILUVSWTAS.
My guess is that Chapman's book on SW Tasmania or his new book exclusively on the South Coast Track would have some relevant coordinates. I don't have either book but maybe someone else does and they could advise?

Best track in Tasmania??!
From memory the SW book has grid references from the 1:25000 series maps.

Roger, could you confirm the detail of where you lost the track?

Try this thread - there is a Google earth kml file of the track and campsites - if you have oziexplorer or some other GPS programme you can get it loaded to your GPS
