TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Not very technical and the websites details are sadly lacking. I've emailed and phoned asking for more details and I'm waiting for a reply.
I don't think the company did any research on what the market needed or wanted.
I could quite happily support a local down jacket but I'd want it properly designed and sized.
Went to the site because The Boss wants a new winter doona.
Kimptons used to do a japara shelled down jacket many many moons ago but it was a pretty simple garment and I don't think it sold well.

What would you members want to see in a locally made downie?
I'd be quite happy with a retro japara shelled long jacket for around town and for walking between the ski lodge and the bar but I'd be looking for a separate shell over the top of the stitched though insulation, really big pockets to take a gloved hand, two way zip and big internal pockets for my spare stuff and at least one Napoleon pocket for my phone.
I'd be happy to drop some dollars to get something like that, maybe as much as $700-
