Lets hope his brother is better equipped. Even peak baggers need to know the basics.

Walker Winched From Chilly Cradle Sept 28th
Wednesday, 29 September 2010
Posted By [Corvus]

I am concerned about the
reporting on the recent
bushwalker rescue headed
''Walker winched from chilly
Cradle'' (Adv, Sept 28).
Last time I looked, Mt Beecroft
and Reynolds Falls were not in
the Cradle Mt national park and
the story also stated that Mr
Davis set out on a day walk from
Black Bluff to Mt Beecroft -''a
15km walk''.
Black Bluff to Beecroft is more
like 40km-plus and definitely not
a day walk.
The check list also had a glaring
omission: where was the map and
compass? At no time was Mr
Davis any further than 10km
south of a major road and with
these basic tools, he would most
probably not have been lost.
