Lees Paddocks

Postby Phil » Fri 29 Oct, 2010 3:57 pm

Hey guys

I'm looking at walking in to Lees Paddocks shortly with my wife and 6 year old son. We were actually planning on doing it this weekend which is a long weekend for North Tas. Unfortunately, the weather forecast is not looking to good at the moment but I am still holding onto hope that we can do it Sunday/Monday.

Has anyone been in to Lees Paddocks over the past few weeks? Does anyone know what the condition of the track is like? .......Just wondering what footwear we may have to use........I was hoping that my son may be able to get away with just wearing some old sneakers and then having a second pair to wear at the campsite (just for comfort) but if the track is too boggy then we'll throw that idea out the window.

Any other tips/thoughts/observations would be appreciated.

Thanks

Phil

G'day Phil,
The Lees Paddocks Track regardless of the season always has muddy parts and a couple of creek crossings that vary in depth depending on the recent rainfall (heavy predicted Sat/Sun) however it is a fantastic Rain Forest well within your boys capabilities.
Old sneakers may end up very uncomfortable for him after mud/creeks I would give consideration to a Gumboot change for these areas at this time of year.
Have fun and dont forget the photos :)

Thanks for the feedback Corvus; taken on board

I'm not real confident that we'll get there this weekend with the weather the way it is, the young fella will be pretty disappointed :(

I've not walked in to Lees Paddocks before so the advice is appreciated, thanks.
