DYKT Slideshow

Postby Vee » Fri 29 Oct, 2010 3:57 pm

Hi All
Does anyone know when the DYKT slideshow is on in Launceston? I thought it was on this week but haven't heard anything.
Cheers

Might be worth asking tas-man
There's this post that says the 45th show is on in Launceston in the last week of October, but I have heard nothing.

Hi Vee, the next "Do You Know Tasmania" show had been booked for the last week of October at the Earl Arts Centre, Launceston, but due to production constraints with our committee member's time this year, it has had to be postponed to the first week of March next year. We had also planned to release volumes 3 & 4 of our old DYKT movies at the next show, and this has been almost completed, so we can move onto completing the show. We might still try to have a one night showing of the current DYKT no44 in Hobart as Mt Designs are happy to look after ticket sales again. Be assured that as soon as there is more firm news, it will be posted on the forum. Thanks for your interest.

Hello Ian
Thanks for the info regarding the slide night. You have certainly saved me standing in a dark alley tonight! Would like to say what a fantastic job you do of the show and I look forward to the March presentation.
Cheers V

Saw the show in Victoria earlier this year. Loved it! Hey Ian, if you are holidaying this way again, give me a yell early

Re: DYKT Slideshow - HOBART

Hi everyone,

Thought it best to give this thread a bump first before creating a new topic :D

Our 45th show will not now be happening in March as previously indicated, but now booked for the last week of October this year. However this gives us an opportunity to bring the 44th show to Hobart in the interim. I have got a penciled booking for the "50 & Better Centre" again (where we held it last time) for two nights -15th and 16th April. If those interested in attending and on the forum can let me know if this conflicts with any other "wilderness" type events in hobart, please let me know. We avoided the following tow weeks that have long weekends for anzac Day and Easter, so are hoping that these dates will be suitable. When the dates are confirmed, I will put the details of ticket sales etc in a new post. BTW the "Do You Know Tasmania" historic movie collection DVD's will be available at the show at the special show price of Vols 1 & 2 for $30 - link here to info - http://www.launcestonwalkingclub.org.au/buy-dvds.html

Cheers, Ian

Hi frank_in_oz, I have just been advised that a niece is getting married in Adelaide on December 17th so will be travelling via Melbourne the week before that. Assuming that our show #45 happens as planned in Launceston in October, might be able to arrange a Melbourne/Geelong show for you, so will keep in touch. Flyfisher, hope to do another Hobart season with show #45 about this time next year.
