Launceston conference speaker

Postby davids » Fri 19 Nov, 2010 9:08 am

Hi all
I am helping convene a medical (obstetric/GP) conference in Launceston next April. Scientific programs are always enriched by some local flavour, and I wondered if any of you knew of (or were!) suitable public speakers on a topic. I thought topics of interest might be the related to bushwalking/photography/Tassie's great wilderness areas, or the Tassie Devil mouth tumour issue, the history of the local conservation issues etc. The emphasis would be on interest level rather than anything too academic.
Cheers

Nick Mooney is always a down to earth, passionate, practical speaker who is very knowledgeable on all things furry in Tasmania (Devil, Tiger etc).

A wedge tailed eagle is always a good draw card - he has a passion for them as well.

Bruce Englefield from Devil Island Project is an engaging speaker and a good man, also worked with Benny Hill for many years so has anecdotes coming out of his anecdotes.
