Lady Lake Hut

Hi all. We're planning a trip into LAdy Lake Hut in the New Year. JUst wondering:

1. If anyone had been up there?
2. How long the trip was into the hut?
3. If there were camping sites near the hut?
4. If there were any arrangements around use?

Any tips appreciated.

I went up there last year in winter. We had deep snow in places at the top. Took us about 1 hour 15 mins to get to the hut from memory then we walked on to Ironstone hut at Lake Nameless. From memory there are clear places around the area for camping. It's a beautiful area. No fish in Lady Lake, apparently but there are in the lakes further on.

Fantastic spot plenty of comments and Pics on the forum (sorry not really good at directing to them)
1 yes plenty of Forum members have been up there
2 a couple of hours or so
3 yes but not many especially if wet
4 first come first served sleeps six+
Tips, take some bottles of Metho so you can use the two burner cooking stove and in case you need it the Metho heater .
Well worth the walk as you can access many really nice places from there.

Thanks for this. We're planning the same trip - up to Lady LAke, on to NAmeless then back. Looking forward to it. We love the huts.

Went for a walk up there a few weeks ago, took me solo about 1hr 40 mins to the hut. Pretty steep walk but well worth it, absolutely magic place

We actually came out via the Weston Creek Track after heavy snow and snowmelt and found two river crossings to be rather daunting and treacherous and not to be recommended in those conditions.

Yes, it is a great hut I have been up there and stayed twice, if you go around to the lake you might be lucky and find a few fish but its best to do that at night.
P.S You may want to take some candles aswell because when we went they were almost gone and its good to have a bit of light in the hut!
