Split Rock & Falls

Postby Thomas » Tue 04 Jan, 2011 6:56 am

Hey all,

Had a trip to Split Rock & associated falls yesterday 3rd January. Top day for a walk...!!! Was blown away with Split Rock itself. We took in the falls first, then made our way up to meet the top track coming from Meander Falls, & descended thru Split Rock.

We took time to work out the slope at Split Rock....worked out to be approximately 77 degree gradient. Luckily it's only a short distance.... :)

All in all...great morning out. Commenced walking @ 7.15am & arrived back @ the suspension bridge @ 10.45.

Also, could someone please clarify for me, i see that Split Rock is classed 1 peak bag point. Is this the top of Split Rock itself or at the track junction above the falls..???? :?

Regards,
Thomas :D

Sorry Thomas, the Split rock peak is on the central plateau just north of Liaweenee and just west of Great Lake.

At 1318m it is worthy of a point.

Having been there i'd disagree that it is worthy of a point.....
We did have heavy snow on that trip though.
Nothing to see here.
