Tabletop Mountain?

Hi John,
I thought you might know this one, yes it is table Top Mountain, your turn now.

Table Top Mountain is an easy cross country ski day trip from Kiandra or Selwyn ski resort and is a favourite of mine, on a clear day the views from Table Top are stunning.

Thanks Tony. It wasn't too difficult to work out from the online map out once you said the AAWT passed to the east and north. I haven't visited the peak but have done some pottering around Kiandra not too far away. I could also just make out the outline of Jagungal on the horizon.

Next one is in VIC. What is the foreground water feature called and its location? Bonus points for naming any of the background features or where I took the photo from.

Not Diamantina Creek but Mt Feathertop is visible.

If I was looking at Mt Hotham I would expect to see the road cutting on its side - but I cannot drill down into these photos to be able to pick it out

Yes I'll pay that eggs. It is Lake Catani on Mt Buffalo plateau, but not from the Monolith. This is from the lookout at the top of the Lake View track. Both tracks start in roughly the same place. Over to you...

I think there are a couple of ways to place photos - but I add generally add photos about 1200x800 and if you click on them they will open up to full size.
There has to be a road on Hotham in that photo, I just can't pick it.

My first statement was going to be from the Lake View lookout - but looking at Google satellite suggested you might have needed to be a bit further round - but obviously not.

Next one is in NSW (my first - despite almost 50% of entries so far being NSW)

On the Grand High Tops walk near the Breadknife in the Warrumbungles, NSW - Siding Springs in the distance

Stab in the dark - The Breadknife.

Technically - this is next to the Breadknife as a secondary dike running at a different angle down the slope.
You cross the top of it on the Grand High Tops walk.
In the background is the dome of the Observatory at Siding Springs

Congratulations Bushwalk Australia members, First ten pages completed today.

In the ten pages we have had 314 posts with 3723 views (at time of writing) we have averaged around 360 views per page or 11.8 views per post, this is twice that of the Where am I Tasmanian game which averages 180 views per page, 6 views per post.

The quality of the photos has been excellent, I have been drooling over some of the places that I have seen in the game.

Would like encourage some more members to join in.

Have you seen the Emu Woman engraving at this site?

Interesting short walk, I think there are a couple of different routes into it. Yes we did see the engraving, always great to find gems like that and hope that they remain intact. Unfortunately natural weathering and vandalism are constant threats. We did much of the walk in the rain so the contrast in my photos may not be as good yours, even though it looks like you've added some water for clarity.

Next is an easy one from QLD. What is the name of the feature in the left foreground? Bonus points if you can tell me which track I'm on:

Yes we did as we could hardly see it, it's almost invisible when dry.

Yep, I've found that's often the case and some of those I've visited more than once are now becoming even more difficult to see just through weathering. Particularly some around Kuring-gai Chase NP. A shame as once they're gone that's it, but there's not much can be done I guess except erect shelters which take away from the natural location. One location, in a lesser known area that I visit from time to time, suffered a rock collapse and several drawings were obliterated.

But I think you are looking at Egg Rock - possibly from the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk near Binna Burra - or a bit along the section called the Lower Bellbird Circuit.

Yes eggs, it is Egg Rock . I'm actually on the Ships Stern circuit at Binna Burra. From memory at the northernmost lookout point. I don't think that track is actually part of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk but we may be overlooking a section of it. It was a memorable day for leeches, rain and finishing the last 2 kms in pitch darkness using head torches. Nice walk though . Your turn...

p.s. Is that size photo working out better?

I noticed quite a few tracks in parallel in that area - including the Ships Stern Circuit track. From another online photo it appears your shot might have had some telephoto to it.
And the GC Hinterland Great Walk appears to follow the Ships Stern Track till it meets the Lower Bellbird Track.

Next one is from Victoria [PS - there is no detail hidden in this horizon - but it is still a bit blown out - sorry]

This game has shown me something - Googlelmages has a lot of pics from just about everywhere on the mainland, but there are large areas of Tas that aren't clicked so to speak.

There are tracks all over the place around there. I'm trying to recall the exact route we took, the current park sketch map seems ambiguous about where the GCHGW goes. I know we walked anticlockwise and finished on the Bellbird circuit so I guess we must have been on the GCHGW at some point (don't think it existed in 2007 though?). Yes there's a fair bit of zoom in that shot.
