I came across these inflatable snowshoes today in my net wanderings. If this had appeared on April 1st I might have thought it was an April Fool's Day joke... but it does seem that they are real! They are still under development, but for emergency use, or in a place where you don't expect snow but it can happen, they have potential.
No specs on weight or packed size yet, but they are certainly going to pack smaller than normal snowshoes.

That's actually a pretty neat idea.. It's probably going to be a lot quicker than tying some branches together in the shape of a shoe.

What a great idea. Though I must say I love the "English" used in the last line-

Yes, for non technical areas they appear safe enough.
This was discussed a few weeks ago at BPL. Someone linked to a US version but that had no traction built in just the floating part.
Still there are no specs (weight and packed size) that I can see.
They could be useful in the "shoulder" seasons or to the long distance hikers that may or may not need them in certain areas.
IE better than nothing but not too bulky and heavy if they are not needed.
looking forward to have my way with them in the open air.
