Filtererd Water bottles and bladders.

Just wondering what you are all using, I don't want to get sick on my trip. I have been looking online, but don't really see any bladders with filters built in, I have seen a few bottles that have filters though.

I use one of those bottles with the filter built in. Lifesaver Bottle. Very happy with it. The lifesaver bottle also filters out viruses and cleans the water.

To be honest I've always just used micropur tablets and have my little routine with them but I've recently started looking at alternatives. I really would like a gravity fed system and something like the ULA amigo would be awesome but they don't make them anymore. I was thinking of getting something like the platypus cleanstream and ditching the second clean bladder and just letting the water flow straight into my bladder/containers.

Sterilizes water in no time at all and easy to use. Just make sure you carry purifier tablets as a backup because you are relying on a gizmo. Steripen also make attachments to filter out objects but you can also just improvise with a bandana.

Not sure if it's as good as a Life Saver bottle, but the specs seem pretty good, the kATADYN is a hundred or so dollars cheaper and holds more water.

Just had a google and youtube about the Lifesaver Bottle, that seems the one it get, more expensive, but seems pretty effective the British army use it


I can use it to even fill up my bladder with it pretty easily.

Thanks guys, good info, am tackling the OT in a few months and am developing a gastro paranoia... Avoiding the huts, taking hand sanitiser and getting me one of those bottles!

The lifesaver bottles are great, I've used one since March of this year. I have filtered water with animal poo in it. It was either that or be with no water for the day. Water tasted great and I did not have any symptoms from drinking poo water after being filtered with the Lifesaver bottle.

Yeah it does seem the bottle to get it's a filter and water pump in one, you can even fill up your bladder up with it and even use the water for cooking right from the bottle, seems to be to good to be true.

Wish I could get hold of the Military version.
