Pouring over Google earth to find good daywalks from Hobart I though Snowy Range looked like it could be interesting. Cant find too much info and I'm a bit confused about the starting point. On Google Earth I found a photo from the starting point placed at 42°56'28.29"S 146°42'44.74"E. Is this correct? On another map I've seen a different starting point (can't remember exactly where). Is Dennison/McDougalls Rd the best way to get there?
On the way up, above lake Skinner, according to one map the trail goes to right of the small tarn (by following the cairns???) but I've read somewhere it is better to go left along the edge. How is the track anyway? easy to follow? Not too confident with off track walking yet especially when the weather is likely to be not great.
How long would a return trip take (roughly)?
Any info is appreciated
