Another tent thread, lightweight 1 or 2 person to be exact

Hey guys i opened a thread a while back about tents however it has sort of gone cold (no replies) and im still looking. Im looking for something lightweight (dosent have to be super light), small packsize, easy to pitch and not rely on a million guy ropes, AND NO I CANT AFFORD A CUBEN TENT ! =)

I have 2 tents, both super:
Tarptent Rainshadow2, it is a 3 person tent, huge space for two people, weighs 1.2kg, cost $265 US, fantastic quality, have used mine extensively since 2008.
Gossamer Gear "The One" it is a 1 person tent, weighs 550g, cost $295 US, have used it this year only, very happy with it.

I just ordered the TarpTent moment, US $252 including shipping to Canberra. After months of personal research, I think it's the way to go for me. I ordered it without the crossing pole as a few people have said it has little effect on wind stability; proper guying out and tent location/orientation are more important. The crossing pole could be useful in the snow, but I have a 4 season tent for that. Good luck with finding the right tent for you!

The Habitat is similar to the Hubba Hubba, just under 2 kg, the Lightwave is a bit like the TN Laser with vents, 1.385kg on my scale(packs small)
The TT Rainshadow is very large for 1-2 people but you could look at the Double Rainbow at around 1.1kg .
This stands up nicely without any guyropes although in strong winds it can use some.
If you are not in a hurry and use trekking poles you may want to take a look at the new TT StratoSpire 1 or 2.
The one , a bit like the Scarp 1 , can take two mats in emergency or for a close couple (a man and his dog...)

I do love my Scarp 1 and Scarp 2 tents, but to add something to this discussion a room good 3 season tent is the Six Moon Designs Lunar Duo if you use trekking poles. It's quite roomy inside, but I've found mine to not nearly as good in the wind as a Scarp.

In the end it always comes down to what conditions you want to use it in. Well at least that's what I tell my wife every time I buy a new tent!!

I have a tarptent Moment also, find it to be an excellent little tent for one person year round on the far south coast NSW where I walk, a few other folks I walk with got them after seeing mine and are also very happy with them.
