Mount Feathertop and Bon Accord Hill Circuit

Starting near the car park on Feathertop Track, Harrietville, this walk takes you up Mount Feathertop and past Bon Accord Hill via the Bungalow Spur, Razorback and Bon Accord tracks. Not for faint-hearted, this extremely challenging but highly rewarding hike takes you on a relentless circuit within the Alpine National Park. Native wildflowers and many shades of green decorate Mount Feathertop, and the hike to its summit is a gruelling ascent that will test even the fittest walkers. At 1922m, it is the second-highest peak in Victoria and has incredible views over the surrounding mountains. It provides great hiking opportunities in summer, and in winter, it becomes a popular location for extreme skiing. Hikers can stay overnight at the Federation Hut camping area, with toilet facilities and a small water tank. Be aware that weather conditions can change quickly, and there is no access to drinking water on the main Razorback Spur. Make sure you're properly prepared and have the fitness and endurance levels needed to enjoy this walk. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Turn on to Great Alpine Road Offramp then drive for 620 m Keep right onto Great Alpine Road Offramp and drive for another 120 m Turn right onto Great Alpine Road, B500 and drive for another 41.4 km At roundabout, take exit 2 onto Myrtle Street, B500 and drive for another 390 m At roundabout, take exit 2 onto Myrtle Street, B500 and drive for another 23.9 km At roundabout, take exit 1 onto Great Alpine Road, B500 and drive for another 6.2 km At roundabout, take exit 1 onto Gavan Street, B500 and drive for another 24 km Turn left onto Feathertop Track and drive for another 1.2 km

After another 220 m cross the bridge (about 3 m long) After another 1.9 km come to the "Picture Point" (6 m on your right). After another 2.2 km come to the "Tobias Gap" (15 m on your right). After another 3.3 km (from the Bungalow Spur Track) continue straight, to head along Bungalow Spur Track. After another 1.1 km pass the water tap (10 m on your right). After another 6 m pass the "Federation Hut" (10 m on your right). Then pass the toilet (35 m on your right).
	From the Bungalow Spur Track continue straight, to head along Bungalow Spur Track. After another 15 m come to the camp site (on your right).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This little side trip takes you to the Little Feathertop. To start this optional side trip turn left here. On returning from this side trip turn sharp left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 410 m (from the Bungalow Spur Track) continue straight, to head along Bungalow Spur Track.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This route takes you to Mount Feathertop. Can take around an hour (out & back). To start this optional side trip veer left here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 15 m (at the intersection of Razorback Track & Bungalow Spur Track) turn right, to head along Razorback Track.
	After another 1.4 km (at the intersection of Razorback Track & Diamantina Spur Walking Track) continue straight, to head along Razorback Track. After another 1.4 km pass the summit (6 m on your right). After another 235 m (at the intersection of Champion Spur Track & Razorback Track) continue straight, to head along Razorback Track.
	After another 4.9 km (from the Razorback Track) continue straight, to head along Razorback Track. After another 710 m pass the summit (on your left).
	At the intersection of Bon Accord Walking Track & Razorback Track turn right, to head along Bon Accord Walking Track. After another 3.9 km pass the "Bon Accord Hill" (150 m on your left).
	After another 3.5 km (from the Bon Accord Walking Track) continue straight.
	After another 310 m (from the Bon Accord Walking Track) turn right, to head along Bon Accord Walking Track.
	After another 1.4 km (from the Bon Accord Walking Track) continue straight, to head along Bon Accord Walking Track.
	After another 2.7 km (at the intersection of Champion Spur Track & Bon Accord Walking Track) continue straight, to head along Bon Accord Track.
	After another 560 m (from the Bon Accord Track) continue straight, to head along Bon Accord Track (a residential road).
	After another 80 m (at the intersection of Riverside Walk & Bon Accord Track) veer right, to head along Riverside Walk (a walking track).
	After another 430 m (from the Riverside Walk) veer right. After another 15 m cross the Vic Attridge Bridge (about 15 m long)
	After another 3 m turn right.
	After another 115 m (from the Off Feathertop Track) turn sharp left, to head along Off Feathertop Track (a vehicle track).
	After another 45 m (from the Feathertop Track) turn right, to head along Feathertop Track (a residential road). After another 325 m (at the intersection of Dredgehole Lane & Feathertop Track) continue straight, to head along Feathertop Track. After another 245 m come to a car park.
