	Start heading along Lyrebird Walk. There is a toilet (about 50 m back from the start).
	After another 450 m (at the intersection of Lyrebird Walk & Tea Tree Falls Walk) continue straight, to head along Lyrebird Walk.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. Side trip to lookout with views. To start this optional side trip veer left here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 1.1 km veer right, to head along Lyrebird Walk. After another 40 m come to the viewpoint (6 m on your left). After another 120 m come to the viewpoint (20 m on your left).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. Side trip to lookout with views. To start this optional side trip turn left here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. Continue straight, to head along Lyrebird Walk.
	After another 1.3 km continue straight, to head along Lyrebird Walk. After another 75 m pass the "John B. Williams memorial" (50 m on your right). Then pass a "John B. Williams memorial" (55 m on your right). After another 30 m cross the bridge (about 3 m long) After another 380 m cross the ford. After another 60 m cross the ford. Then head up the 16 surface\|wood steps (about 4 m long) After another 25 m cross the ford. After another 740 m head up the 12 surface\|wood steps (about 2 m long)
	After another 225 m (at the intersection of Lyrebird Walk & Tea Tree Falls Walk) turn left, to head along Lyrebird Walk. After another 620 m come to the "Platypus Valley Lookout" (25 m on your right).
	At the intersection of Eagles Nest Track & Lyrebird Walk continue straight, to head along Eagles Nest Track.
	After another 60 m (at the intersection of Eagles Nest Track & Lyrebird Walk) turn left, to head along Lyrebird Walk.
	After another 210 m turn left.
	After another 20 m come to the end. A car park.

- New England National Park alerts
  Closed areas: Walking track closed due to damage caused by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred
  For safety, the New England Wilderness walk is closed until Thursday 1 May due to potential damage caused by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The walk will be opened once inspections, and any necessary works, are completed.
  Penalties apply for non-compliance.
  
  Closed areas: Closed roads due to Ex-tropical cyclone Alfred in New England National Park
  Closed roads in New England National Park until 31 August due to Ex-tropical cyclone Alfred. Road blocks have been installed on the Horseshoe road to prevent vehicle movements at the Killikrankie Mountain Lookout intersection in the north and at Kilprotay road Intersection to the south. In addition, Kilprotay road has developed a natural road blockage about 3.5 km from the intersection with the Horseshoe road.
  Two significant events have been identified, affecting the roading network in New England National Park:
  
  Horseshoe road – culvert blow out and undermining of road, no through access
  
  Kilprotay road – major landslip (~3.5km from the top intersection with the Horseshoe road), no through access
  
  Gaddes Ridge road - major landslip, no through access
  
  These closures will remain in place until geohazard assessments can be undertaken and works completed. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
