Somerset Lookout Circuit

Starting near The Gantry off Lovedays Road, Mount Mee, this circuit walk explores the diverse vegetation of D'Aguilar National Park via the Somerset Trail, visiting the Somerset Lookout midway through the loop. You’ll feel like you’re teleporting while walking this track, as each section welcomes you with a seperate ecosystem and vegetation. From rainforests to eucalypt and pine woodlands, the diversity truly provides a unique experience. Besides the lovely views of the flora and the valley, the Somerset Lookout gives you spectacular views over the Somerset and Wivenhoe Dams. More than 240 species of birds have been spotted in the park, and you’ll have no problem seeing or hearing them throughout the journey. Keep in mind that the track can be slippery when wet, so take extra care around the cliffs. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the dirt car park off Lovedays Road(near The Gantry), head towards the main road(Lovedays Road), keeping The Gantry to your left. Cross the road and head towards the white informative signpost near the blue/green directional signpost, moving directly away from The Gantry. Head along the dirt track and pass through the bollard as you move past the said signposts to your right. Continue straight on the dirt walking track(Somerset Trail) for about 900 metres, then veer right(following the Somerset Trail signage) to continue along Somerset Lookout Circuit(counterclockwise).....

	After another 240 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail. After another 255 m (at the intersection of Somerset Trail & K Break) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail. After another 155 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail.
	After another 970 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail. After another 1.7 km (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail. After another 430 m pass the summit (130 m on your right).
	After another 20 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail. Keep right. After another 35 m come to the "Wivenhoe View" (9 m on your left). After another 140 m come to the "Somerset Lookout". After another 680 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail.
	After another 870 m (from the Somerset Trail) turn left, to head along Somerset Trail (a vehicle track). After another 15 m (from the Somerset Trail) veer right, to head along Somerset Trail (a walking track). After another 15 m cross the ford. After another 870 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail. After another 770 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail. After another 700 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail.
	After another 65 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail. After another 255 m (from the Somerset Trail) continue straight, to head along Somerset Trail. Keep right.
	After another 420 m (from the Somerset Trail) veer right, to head along Somerset Trail.
