Mill Point Loop

Starting from Elanda Point Road, Como, this return walk takes you to the Mill Point lookout via Cooloola Wilderness and Mill Point trails. This scenic track features a historic settlement that was active in the late 1860s. You’ll be able to learn more about the history via interpretive signposts and the ruins themselves. A chimney, a well lid, and a boiler are among the remnants that can be found in the area. Besides the historic features, you’ll be able to see kangaroos and different bird species as well as stingrays in the water. Refrain from doing the walk after rainfall to minimize the number of mosquitos along the track (take a decent repellent nonetheless). Let us begin by acknowledging the Butchulla people, Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From Elanda Point Road (480 metres southwest of the Habitat Noosa Hotel), head north along the Cooloola Wilderness Trail as you move away from the road and the lake. Continue straight at the 4-way intersection and cross the wide fire trail. Follow the same trail as you keep the lake to your right to continue along Mill Point Loop (clockwise).....

	After another 75 m (from the Cooloola Wilderness Trail) turn right, to head along Cooloola Wilderness Trail.
	After another 500 m (from the Cooloola Wilderness Trail) continue straight, to head along Cooloola Wilderness Trail.
	After another 145 m (from the Cooloola Wilderness Trail) continue straight, to head along Cooloola Wilderness Trail. After another 15 m pass the sign (on your left).
	After another 470 m (at the intersection of Mill Point Trail & Cooloola Wilderness Trail) veer right, to head along Mill Point Trail (a walking track). Then pass the sign (on your left).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This is the side trip taking you to Mill Point where you'll get exceptional views over the lake. To start this optional side trip continue straight here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 320 m (from the Mill Point Trail) turn right.
	After another 710 m continue straight. Then pass the sign (on your left). After another 110 m pass the sign (on your left). After another 195 m come to the "Elanda Point Canoe Company" (9 m on your left).

	From the Elanda Point Road continue straight, to head along Elanda Point Road.
	After another 115 m (from the Elanda Point Road) continue straight, to head along Elanda Point Road.
	After another 90 m (from the Elanda Point Road) continue straight, to head along Elanda Point Road. After another 70 m (from the Elanda Point Road) continue straight, to head along Elanda Point Road. After another 10 m (from the Elanda Point Road) continue straight, to head along Elanda Point Road. After another 145 m come to a car park. A sign.
	Continue another 0 m to find at the intersection of Elanda Point Road & Cooloola Wilderness Trail at the end.

This is the side trip taking you to Mill Point where you'll get exceptional views over the lake.
