Getting There Transport options and directions

Start	On Molly O'Neill Nature Walk (30 m East of Bungonia Lookdown Road), Bungonia. (-34.8012008,150.0178508)

Directions	From Hume Highway Onramp, Marulan, head west along Hume Highway; After 1.3km, turn uturn on to Hume Highway Marulan. After another 1.7km, turn slight left on to Marulan South Road Offramp Marulan. After another 350m, turn right on to Marulan South Road Marulan. After another 100m, turn slight left on to Jerrara Road Marulan. After another 50m, turn slight left on to Jerrara Road Marulan. After another 14.6km, (at the end of Jerrara Road) turn left on to Mountain Ash Road Bungonia. After another 250m, turn slight left on to Eliza Champion Street Bungonia. After another 350m, turn left on to Howick Street Bungonia. After another 200m, continue straight along The Lookdown Road Bungonia. After another 8.3km, continue straight along Bungonia Lookdown Road Bungonia. After another 500m, turn slight right on to Bungonia Lookdown Road Bungonia. After another 800m, turn right on to Bungonia. After another 30m, come to the trackhead on Bungonia.

Universally Wheelchair accessible. The William Mitchell Car Park, parking area is at the start. There is also another parking area nearby. The David Reid Car Park, parking area is at the start. After another 40m, pass a picnic table (10m on your right). After another 15m, pass a picnic table (15m on the left). Then almost immediately, pass a picnic table (15m on your right). Then almost immediately, pass a BBQ (10m on your right). After another 30m, pass B3 Lyre Bird's Lair a cave, a cave (20m on your right). After another 100m, pass William Mitchell Car Park (50m on the left). There is also another parking area nearby. After another 15m, pass a parking area (50m on the left). After another 60m you will find the Bungonia Lookdown lookout (30m on your right). Then almost immediately, pass a seat (30m on your right). After another 15m, pass a seat (on your right).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. Side trip to the first Bungonia Lookdown. To start this optional side trip turn_sr_1-2 here. When you have finished this side trip, head back to the main route and to continue. Details below. Then (at the intersection) . Then almost immediately, pass a seat (ahead). After another 60m, cross the metal grid bridge. After another 10m you will find the Bungonia Lookdown lookout.
	Then almost immediately you will be at the turn-around point (to return to the start) at Bungonia Lookdown, Bungonia. You will also find a seat here.

	After another 30m, (at the 3-way intersection, with & Bungonia Lookdown) turn left (taking the first option to the left), to follow Bungonia Lookdown. Then almost immediately you will find the Bungonia Lookdown lookout. Then almost immediately, pass a seat (on your right).
	Then almost immediately this sidetrip ends at Bungonia Lookdown, Bungonia. You will also find a seatand a parking area here.

- Bungonia National Park alerts
  Other planned events: Notice of 1080 aerial baiting program
  NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting an aerial baiting program using fresh meat containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program will be conducted between Monday 28 July and Friday 1 August 2025. Affected parks and reserves include:

  Jerrara Lookout and associated access path will be closed from Tuesday the 22nd of April until works are completed.

  Safety alerts: Bungonia Gorge - Occasional high water
  Whilst there is continuing rainfall periodically in Bungonia National Park, the Bungonia Creek water level may at times be higher than normal.
  If you're planning to undertake the Red walking track or any activities within Bungonia Gorge, please assess water levels before continuing through the Bungonia Slot Canyon. If in doubt, turn back. Do not enter flood waters. Report conditions via the park register book on-site.
