After another 7.7km, turn sharp right on to Lees Paddocks Track Mersey Forest. After another 5.2km, come to the trackhead on Lees Paddocks Track.

	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. Side trip to Mersey River Viewpoint with great views over the Forth River valley. To start this optional side trip bear left here. When you have finished this side trip, head back to the main route and turn left to continue. Details below. After another 4km, (at the 3-way intersection) bear right, to stay on the Overland Track.
	After another 1.2km, (at the 3-way intersection) continue straight, to stay on the Overland Track. After another 250m, cross the bridge. After another 500m, cross the wooden bridge. After another 1.2km, cross the wooden Pelion Creek Bridge.
	Then almost immediately (at the 3-way intersection) continue straight, to stay on the Overland Track.
	After another 150m, (at the 3-way intersection) continue straight, to stay on the Overland Track. After another 3.3km, cross the wooden Frog Flats Bridge, over River Forth.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. Side trip to the charming Old Pelion Hut, constructed around 1916. If you're up for a refreshing swim, follow the foot track to a swimming hole in Douglas Creek. To start this optional side trip turn left here. When you have finished this side trip, head back to the main route and bear left to continue. Details below. After another 3.4km, (at the 3-way intersection) continue straight, to stay on the Overland Track.
	After another 750m, (at the 3-way intersection) turn sharp left, to stay on the Overland Track. Then almost immediately you will find the New Pelion Hut Group Campsite (30m on your right). 🔗 parks.tas.gov.au
	After another 30m, (at the 3-way intersection) continue straight, to stay on the Overland Track. After another 40m, pass New Pelion Hut Toilets (on the left).
	Then (at the 3-way intersection) continue straight, to stay on the Overland Track. Then almost immediately you will find the New Pelion Hut Helipad, (50m ahead). Then almost immediately, pass a water tank (ahead). Then almost immediately you will find the New Pelion Hut (ahead). There is a toilet here.
	Then almost immediately you come to the end at New Pelion Hut. You will also find a toilet, helipadand a water tank here.

Side trip to Mersey River Viewpoint with great views over the Forth River valley.

	To start this sidetrip bear left (from at the intersection of Forth River Viewpoint Track & Overland Track) by heading north-east along the Forth River Viewpoint Track. After another 70m you will find the Forth River Viewpoint .
	Then almost immediately this sidetrip ends at Forth River Viewpoint.

	After another 40m, (at the 3-way intersection, with & Mount Oakleigh Track) turn left, to follow the Mount Oakleigh Track. After another 350m, cross the bridge. After another 1.7km pass a lookout.
	After another 700m, (at the 3-way intersection, with Mount Oakleigh Track & ) bear right.
	After another 950m this sidetrip ends.
